Top Hat Candy Witch Costume - DIY Homemade Hat

TOP HAT CANDY WITCH
This costume originally started out as a Halloween pirate but my daughter didn't like that and wanted to be a witch

So as to not do the typical pointed witches hat I thought I would try something different.
This is a top hat with a pointed front to give the impression of a witches hat.
It's really easy to make and all you need are a few simple items.

I used what supplies I already had, so you can substitute any of these for something you already have at home.
I used felt for the hat. But coloured cardboard or thin foam would also work fine so be adventurous and experiment.

I used the following things.
1. Sheet of green glitter foam for hat base.
2. 2 x foam candy corn from dollar store for embellishment but you can use whatever you like.
3. Black ribbon
4. Black felt for rose.
5. 1 x hair clip
6. Glue or hot glue gun

All you need to do to make this top hat is to follow these simple steps.
1. Cut out top hat template base which you can find here.
2. Insert hair clip into square template and glue on bottom of circle base.
3. Glue top flap of hat down following template guide. If you do not want a point at front cut straight across  dashed line on template before next step to appear as top hat only.
4. Glue on embellishments.
5. Wait to dry, put in hair and its ready to wear !

I hope this has inspired you to create your very own cute little candy pionted witch inspired top hat hair fastener for your own child to have fun with.

Happy crafting!
