Kitty Cat Ears - DIY Easy Costume Accessories for Kids

BE A KITTY CAT
My daughter has a cute Bat dress  with wings but she likes to take them off and wear her cat tail with this dress so i decided to make her some KITTY ears to match her dress.

All you need are a few simple items which you might have laying around
1. A headband
2. Three different coloured fabric
4. Sewing machine or a hot glue gun (or clear fast drying strong craft glue).

I also added some KITTY cat finger nails to complete this outfit.

I  purchased the nails from a cheap store from its Halloween section.
It was a packet of 10 x witch fingers for about $2,  which originally had red finger nails.
I modified these red nails and painted them pink to match my daughters costume.

To make the ears all you need to do is follow these simple steps

1. Cut out fabric as per template you can find here.
2. You can sew or glue the triangles together to make the ears, ( I used both). I sewed black triangle fabric to the purple triangle fabric and then glued the pink triangle on top of black one.
3. Place triangle inside out and sew  edges. Leaving gap on bottom flat edge to put finger in to turn back correct way around.
4. Once turned correct way around Glue bottom of ear to top of head band with hot glue gun or fast drying craft glue.
5. Repeat with other ear leaving approx 4cm space in-between.

Now your kitty ears are ready to go out on the prowl ! meoww !

I hope i have inspired you to make some super cute kitty ears yourself for your own child's costume bow, your kids will love them and the possibilities of colour combinations are endless.

Happy Crafting
