EASY WITCH HAT
My daughter had this cute witch dress but the hat that came with it was all bent and didn't sit flat on the brim properly anymore so it was time to make a new one.
It was super simple and easy to make and all you need are a few items.
1. I chose some stiff black satin fabric which I already had and was almost exactly the same as the satin dress.
2. Different material trim to go around hat and to match costume.
3. Sewing machine.
For the hat to take shape all you need to do is follow these simple easy steps.
1. Cut out hat template on your fabric of choice. Template can be found here.
2. Sew half circle and triangle together.
3. Fold triangle with brim in half making sure the fabric you want people to see is on the inside of your fold.
4. Sew triangle and brim together on edge
4. Turn correct way out.
Add brim embellishment (I used the trim from the original hat as it was the correct size and matched the costume perfectly), you can use anything like flowers, ribbon, tulle etc.
