Be a Princess with this easy DIY Juliet Crown

My daughter has a super sweet princess costume dress but only had tiaras to match.
I thought it would be a cute idea to make a simple Juliet princess hat with pink and white roses on purple fabric to match her dress.

All you need are the following items which you might already have in your craft supplies at home.

1. Piece of thin foam as base for hat
2. Soft white tulle for back of hat.
3. 2 x different coloured felt for handmade flowers.
4. Material of your choice to cover foam.
5. Glitter foam or pretty trim to finish of hat.
6. Sewing machine
7. Craft glue or glue gun

1. Simply measure your childs head and cut the piece of Foam in a triangle to the width of your child's head as per template here.
2. Trace foam triangle onto fabric and cut out.
3. Place cut piece of fabric onto foam with front side up.
4. Place cut piece of tulle to the length of one end of triangle ensuring tulle is over the top of the triangle and not to one side.
5. Fold in half with fabric  and foam with tulle on inside
6. Sew length of hat. Turn correct way out and now you have your hat.
7. Embellish with your choice of jewels, flowers or trim.

I chose to put handmade pink and white roses with glitter foam trim as I already had these available, you can find the template to make the flowers here.

I hope this has inspired you to create your very own Juliet Crown for your own child's costume cupboard.

Happy Crafting

KJ  xoxo
