Easy Foam Glitter Rose DIY - Make it Yourself !

Make these fun and easy DIY foam Rose flowers and then turn your creation into a masterpiece !

Lots of crafters would have seen have seen the felt roses which are super easy to make, well I have a different option for you try.

Because I have a 2 year old who loves wearing crowns, headbands, tiaras and anything pretty in her hair and isn't very careful when it comes to handling  things told me she wanted a silver flower in her hair, i thought it would be easy enough to make her a headband to suit her request.

I thought I could make a flower from felt but couldnt find any silver glitter available at my local craft shop.

Paper just wasn't durable enough, and certainly wouldn't last the test of time with my daughter.

So after much thought I decided to try making a rose to embellish a headband from super sparkly glitter foam.

The pattern of the rose which can be found HERE does not need to be cut out perfectly as the foam is very forgiving.

Approx 6cm x 6cm foam square is required to make a rose in a suitable size for a toddlers headband.

You can make your rose as small or as big as you like.

After you have cut out your rose it's now time to glue it together.

Begin putting clear quick drying craft glue of your choice on the END of your petal cutout spiral ensuring you glue on the straight (non scalloped edge) on your foam spiral.

And begin rolling in towards center, gluing edge as you roll.

Once you have rolled your petal spiral and have created your rose it's now time to make your leaves.

Any shape will do so long as they are longer than the flower circumference and are joined together in middle (as shown).

You can roll your rose whichever way you choose to show glitter inside petals or outside. Personally I think rolling on glitter and having petals shimmer on the inside looks better.

Glue your leaves to the bottom of rose.

Once your leaves are now glued on and dry, find a plain headband that matches  your rose or purchase one from a discount store.

Once you have found the perfect headband, glue your newly crafted rose onto the side of your choice.

You can also put this rose on anything you choose like hair clips etc you don't just have to be limited to a headband.

Once your headband is ready it's now time for a test run.

The foam is strong and durable and holds together perfectly with a 2 year old.

The headband is very strong and little miss loved it so much she tells me she wants another one now!

I hope I have inspired you to make a cute foam rose flower yourself.
