Easy DIY Halloween craft for Kids - Spooky Bats

With halloween fast approaching , get your kids crafting this season with having them do this easy diy that parents can help with.

Let you kids be part of the fun by making these cute and easy DIY bats.
No glue necessary and only two materials needed all for under $5.

This craft is perfect to set up on a dinner table as a centrepiece for  Halloween night, and your kids will love that they made them with you.

All you need are a few simple supplies you can find at any local craft or art supply store. I found mine at a local discount store.

What you need
1 x Sheet of craft foam ($2.50au)
1 x pkt of small foam Easter Eggs ($1.50au)

To create this easy home-made no glue bat first you need to draw two bat wings (making sure they are on opposite sides if your foam is different colour on the back) and 2 x bat ears

I drew up a simple template for the wings and ears on paper (which you can find in my downloads section), cut it out and trace it onto the back of the foam.

The next step is to put these little bats together that young kids can do with minimal fuss by following these steps:

1. Poke two holes into the top of the foam egg approx 2mm apart for the ears.
2. Place 1 x ear (foam arrow) on top of hole and push end of arrow into foam hole with a thin long object like a toothpick or pencil top  (you can also use the top of your scissors).
3. Repeat this step with the other ear.
4. Make two slots into the side of body for wings using scissors or toothpick.
5. Place wing flap (the piece on the end of wings) and push into hole (using same procedure as above).
6. Repeat step above for other side.

Now your little bat friend is complete. Make as many or as few as you and your kids like.

They are super strong without glue and withstood a 2 year old playing with them without falling apart.

To make them even more spookier you could have your kids draw on eyes and a mouth with fangs with a marker or glue two googley eyes which jiggle when they move.

We decided to leave ours faceless and hung our bats on a twig branch. Perfect to put in a vase to decorate your candy table for guests and kids as well.

My kids loved the way the decorations turned out and can't wait for Halloween to arrive now !

The Magic in October is in Halloween, so make some of your own and create some cute spooktacular crafts with your kids, that are cheap, easy and diy; kids will love them and parents will love the memories creating them that this spooky season brings.

Happy Halloween!
